Terms of Use

Article 1. Purpose

The Terms define the conditions under which you may browse the Site and use its services. The Site presents Kowo, a part-time shared furnished rental service: several occupants share the same furnished home, each on set days of the week, under a secondary-residence lease governed by the French Civil Code.

Article 2. Acceptance

Using the Site constitutes full acceptance of the Terms in force at the time of your visit. If you do not accept these conditions, you should not use the Site.

Article 3. Services offered

The Site is currently a presentation and pre-launch website. It allows you to:

• learn how part-time furnished rental, time-shared co-occupancy and the fixed-days lease work;
• browse the pages of the cities considered for launch;
• join the waitlist, as a future occupant or as an owner;
• vote for the service to open in your city;
• get, on the owner side, an indicative rental income estimate.

Joining the waitlist and voting are free and non-binding. The Site does not yet allow you to book a home, publish a listing or sign a lease: the matching of occupants and owners will be governed by dedicated terms when the service opens.

Article 4. Access to the Site

The Site is accessible free of charge, 24/7, subject to maintenance operations and technical incidents. Kowo strives to provide the best possible availability but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. The equipment and connection needed to access the Site remain your responsibility.

Article 5. User obligations

By using the Site, you agree to:

• provide accurate, up-to-date information in the forms (waitlist, estimate);
• use the Site fairly, in line with its purpose and with applicable law;
• not disrupt its operation, including through intrusion, overload or circumvention of security measures;
• not use robots, scripts or any other automated means to access the Site or extract data from it;
• not circumvent the mechanisms limiting duplicate votes for the same city.

Article 6. Intellectual property

The Site and all of its elements (texts, visuals, logos, the Kowo brand, structure, code, databases) are protected by intellectual property law and remain the exclusive property of Kowo or its licensors.

You may browse the Site for personal, non-commercial use. Any other reproduction, representation, modification or use, in whole or in part, without Kowo’s prior written consent is prohibited.

Article 7. Personal data

Using the Site involves limited processing of personal data: the waitlist form, city votes and cookieless audience measurement. These processing activities, their purposes, their retention periods and your rights are described in the Privacy policy.

Article 8. Liability

The Site’s contents are provided as general information about the service in preparation. They constitute neither legal advice, nor financial advice, nor a contractual offer.

• The income estimates displayed by the simulator are indicative: they are computed solely from the information you enter and constitute neither a commitment nor a guarantee of income.
• Joining the waitlist guarantees neither the opening of the service in a given city nor priority access to a home.
• Kowo cannot be held liable for indirect damages resulting from the use of, or inability to use, the Site, nor for the content of third-party websites the Site links to.

Article 9. Changes to the Terms

Kowo may update the Terms at any time, in particular when the Site evolves into the full matching service. The applicable version is the one published on this page, identified by its last-updated date. We invite you to review it regularly.

Article 10. Governing law and jurisdiction

The Terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute over their interpretation or performance, and failing an amicable resolution, the competent French courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
